Super silly to put a "tag me" picture on a blog, huh? I've been wanting to do this for a while now. I'm happy. Yes, weird to say so with conviction, but true. But anyways, it has been a good time so far and I can't complaint. Most of the time when memories come over to my mind, I just think on happy moments (I'm trying at least) I promise not to ended up crying. So, I have 16 (or less) boxes to fill. Let's start (and I'm sorry if I offend anyone)
1. The Leader: This tag is for my most adorable China (and we're not making chinito here) Ritsuko Sato. Japanese background, gorgeous girl. I met this person back in 2004 when starting school (yes, college with boys!) I remember her in our first class in Introduction to the Alimentary Industry. Shy? Of course not! Me being jealous about that? Probably. She got the looks (the good ones, the ones that makes you a little bit jealous- boys looks) I wrongly judged her. She was way more than a look. She is smart, energetic, happy (and she suffered lots in life) I don't know if you'll read this China, but you were through college my leader. You getting good grades all the time, sleeping in class (most of the time) drinking chlorophyll to energize yourself, bothering Esteban day and night, being one of the most humble persons I've known. You weren't sleeping b/c you were lazy, but b/c you worked till late. You paid for school and you didn't have a person who was controlling you or regulating your studies. I knew what life has given you and how strong you were to deal with it. Your constant smile and your delicious lentils with passion fruit sauce made my Mondays more enjoyable. If we wanted to party we were looking for you, if we wanted to have a great study group we were looking for you (and by we I mean most of the college students of Food Engineering in our University) You are and were my leader. Funny moment with the leader: The Lemon half lemon game. For those who aren't familiar with this here's the explanation: Grab a bottle of your favorite shot liquor, a glass and sit in a round with your friends. Pick a number from one to as many people are there. So number one starts saying ONE lemon, half lemon, "FIVE" lemons. Then whoever has the number five says FIVE lemons, half lemon, "three lemons" and on. You gotta pick random numbers, the key is to say "your number" lemons, half lemon, "somebody's number" lemons. Pretty straight forward huh? Trust me, this is a mouthful piece of expression after having some alcohol in your organism; melons, mellows, lo-mein, and so forth will come and as punishment you'll have to drink more. Ritsuko was my queen of rum and coke and eternal laughs. I played that game with her many times (and some other college friends) but I remember her eternal laugh. I also remember when I got chicken pox and she was one of the few persons who didn't care and helped me to pass my exams in college (yes I got chicken pox when I just turned 21). I love you, Ritsuko.
2. The Awesome One: If I could pick an awesome friend from college that will be Esteban Gutierrez. We met 6 years ago (as today, more or less) and it has such wonderful time shared since then. Nobody could believe on boy-girl friendship, but damn Esteban is a great friend. Since I never cared much about girly stuff, I guess we fitted well. I was the "favorite" (not anymore thanks to Ornella). Every time I listen to Madonna I have to tell the story of "Esteban and his collection of Madonna's CDs and his misfortune having those robbed" Another part of the great study team. Excellent friend to share a cigarette before, after or in between classes (Note I don't smoke AT ALL almost 5 years now). That's the awesome Esteban. He always with a cool way to be, caring nothing bout dramas. Bothering some other kids, but always respectful. Specific memory of him? Well, I can't recall an specific one. Well, yeah! Esteban once kind of helped me not to put so many people in my car. Ah, regards my car, he baptized my car as "The Flintstones" car: Old Peugeot 305- 1982. That's him.
3. The Motherly Concerned One: Although this is not 100% true, this is part of why I am the friend of mine who's motherly concerned. Reason why I earned the nickname of "vieja" (old woman, for those who doesn't know the meaning) Always criticizing the craziness of people. Always being like "Oh my goodness, are you okay?" Gotta say a little bit nerdy to be like this, but I promised to take care of my friends. I always was taking care especially of Ornella Necochea and Cinthya Guerra-Villarreal. Loved to be the "oldest" in our huge group on 3. Anyway, since this isn't a post about me. then I will skip this one.
4.The One Who Knows all the Gossip: Esteban, can I put you here, too? Well, no offense guys but you were the most chit-chat people I even known. More than girls!!! Breakups? Pregnancies? Fights? Drunk kisses at the "Campo Ferial" (sort of open field with a big stage) parties? Who didn't put much money for the sow (collecting money - a chancha, as we call it). Juan Julio Pilco also was here. AND! Oh my goodness! Lucas Caceres. You boy! You knew everything about everyone. You were without a doubts the open library for every single thing that happened in school. I can't recall exact moments, but I can truly remember looking for you or Esteban if I wanted to know what was going on in school.
5. The Girly One: Ornella Necochea. You are my bestie along with Cinth. I love you so very much! You are the girliest girl I have ever met in life. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't know how to frame my eyelashes. If it wasn't for you I would EVER discovered the wonders of the hair straightener. If it wasn't for you I would never watched Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie's reality show (which actually sucks). You taught me so many things. You made me believe in nice fashions, to get crazy and discover the world. I remember one time when we were at Cinth's house and we had a bbq when Cinth came back from Argentina. We finished all the Navarro Correas wine she had and I remember Cinth's cousin being there too. Once being drunk we had this great idea of going out to a club/bar near by. But we only were wearing jeans and sweatshirts. YOU! Miss Necochea! You made us change with Cinth's clothes. You were giving the OK or the KO symbol to our fashions. That night was amazing. We went to 4 places, we drank some more, I don't remember if we met people..I just remember calling my dad to say "I won't be home tonight- Can't drive I'm pretty drunk". Right after that, my dad forgot he had a daughter for a week. Oh well, I thank you my dearest friend for making my life so wonderful, so happy and so girl refined. You're a lady!
6.Potty Mouth: Not good honor, of course. But most of the guys used the Peruvian version(s) of the F word..."Puta si oe, puta no, puta mare" At one point in school I used to talk like that, because cool kids talked like that, and although I was a complete nerd (not trying to show it) I wanted to fit as a cool person. Ornella comes in play again here! She kind of lectured me on how bad it looks a lady talking like that. Boys, you were so potty mouths! I just talked sh*t for a short amount of time in my life - Not anymore, so back up fuck*rs! (I'm just kidding!!!)
7. The Stylish One: Although this can be a tight competition between my Orne and Cinth I have to give the credits to Cinth. Cinth had the most weirdest looks in school, yet fashion and nice. Cinth, I remember clearly ur jacket with the anchors hanging all over the place. I remember saying: Where do you find those weird clothes? They were awesome! Cinth has taught me that being creative in fashion doesn't mean ridiculous. I also remember once when Cinth came back from Argentina and got us very nice undies, and socks. I loved my socks. I'm still having those! They're crazy, but the coolest nylon socks I've ever owned. I promise you I will wear them soon :)
8. Goofy One: Not because you're a goofy friend, but you have made me laugh many times with your jokes. Lucas Caceres. You have this particularity of giving nicknames that even though they're silly, they're extremely funny. Lucas has this 2 kids, Esteban and Juan Pablo as his 2 best targets. I've never known of a person with so much goofiness yet, funny.
9. Twilight Lover: Guido Mori, you're the Latin lover of this group. The youngest Engineer in the program, the most "Don Juan", guaranteed. Guido is (I hope now was) well known for flirting with freshmen girls. Even in Senior year his standards were ruled to date, make out, or just "talk" to a female freshman. My goofiest friend would be the one who made everyone know what was going on with the "lover". In those huge parties that I wrote about before wasn't weird that Guido would be gone at some point in the party. Next morning the first thing everyone was commenting about was how Guido, my Latin lover, disappeared from the surface of earth for a night...
10. The serious one: Iris Yuki Tsukayama. You're my serious friend...Although when you laughed...you, you...well you made me laugh more than anyone in the world. Iris is responsible and very serious. Always had all the reports, all the homework done on time, always showing how serious work was taken for her. Iris used to get mad all the time whenever something wasn't going good but she was too fine to start yelling and showing her seriousness/anger. I love you Maka :)
11. The Crazy One: Paul aka Loco. That's his nickname. Although I never experienced much moments with you, I can attest that you're completely crazy. He's the one who baptized me and Ornella as the "viejas" team. Always making me feel ridiculously offended with his comments. The entire group loved him because his nonsenses were the funniest ones. The photos he got are just incredibly insane: flower on the head, curled up hair, stylish pose, and "dreamy" eyes..Looking up on some FB photos from Esteban you can see what I'm talking bout. I guess we, Alimentary Eng. students, should thank you for the laughs given while being in class.
12. The lost one: Apo. Where are you? I had to give you this tag because you, my dear friend, disappeared from us. I remember seeing you a couple times- not enough my friend. Apo, the patriarch of the group, the leader, the experienced, the man. I am ALWAYS going to thank you for opening my eyes and tell me the story about that friend of yours..Awesome honest buddy! I wish I could talk to you sometimes :(
13.The adorable one: We all are adorable brix 2004-I!!!
Thanks to every single person that made my years in college the most wonderful ones...I know I haven't commented about a LOT of people, but please keep in mind you guys are in my toughts...all of you! I wouldn't list you all because, as you know, I'm VIEJA and I can barely remember a couple of names...but my heart hasn't suffered of Alzheimer yet, so you all are still there...
